Born and raised in Vietnam, Lan has always had a passion for adventure and new experiences. After coming to the U.S., she travelled extensively while pursuing her studies and career opportunities. She earned her Masters of Education from the University of Washington and guided numerous groups on field trips to learn environmental topics. In 2022, Lan returned to Australia to be closer to her family in both Australia and Vietnam. As she rediscovered the beauty of her homeland through the eyes of her daughter, she felt inspired to share it with her Australian friends. In late 2023, Lan partnered with her cousin Michael, the owner of Heliotrope Travel in Vietnam, to create meaningful experiences for travellers. When she's not assisting travellers, Lan enjoys gardening, tending to her chickens, and teaching her daughter Vietnamese.

A native of Hanoi, Michael has always been known for his friendly and helpful nature. He found his passion for hospitality at a young age and pursued it diligently. Graduating from Hanoi Open University with a Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Michael further honed his skills by obtaining a certificate in Catering Management from Icastec Training and Education College in Singapore. With extensive experience in managing restaurants, hotels, and organising events, Michael's expertise in hospitality is unmatched. Together with his wife Linh “Bella”, who shares his love for travel, they founded Heliotrope Travel in 2017. Their aim is to provide exceptional trips throughout Vietnam, showcasing the country's natural beauty and the warm hospitality of its people. When he is not running the business, Michael enjoys exploring the hidden gems of Hanoi, camping, and travelling around Vietnam with his wife and son.

With a Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management from Hanoi Open University and business management certificates from Icastec Training and Education College in Singapore, Bella boasts over a decade of experience in the tour operator industry. Alongside her husband, she founded Heliotrope Travel in 2017, where they've served thousands of customers worldwide. In her spare time, Bella enjoys exploring new destinations and creating digital content to showcase Vietnam's beauty.
